Hypothermia

This week our classroom is going on camp! The year six's are going to Arthur's pass and the year fives are going to Shantytown. So we want to be safe. We have been learning about safety and hypothermia. This is my group's work.

Quick Writes Term 4

This term we have been doing Quick Writes. A Quick Write is were you are given a picture and you only have 10 minutes to write a piece of descriptive writing. Here is my writing.

1) Fire Works

As I walked through the Karaka-orange smoke, I blew up with excitement.  The smell of fresh smoke from the fireworks smashed against my face! The yelling from the crowd got heavier as they watched in amazement. The beautiful colours mixed together and made it look like a rainbow.   

2) Tomato Pulp

As I ran through the red mushy tomatoes, I feel it getting deeper and deeper. The smell of the sweet fresh tomato flying through the air. I can hear the people screaming with laughter as they squash the tomatoes until it is like sauce. As I wear my goggles to keep my eyes protected I start to pulp the tomatoes one by one. More tomatoes fly to and fro until everything went whero (red)!   

3) Spider Man

As I walk down the street I see something whero (red) and kikorangi (blue). Then all of a sudden lots of colors full in front of my face, and I see spiderman. The smell of the petrol from the busses, trains and cars blows up in my face! I can hear the screams of happiness as I walk closer and closer. All the colors look like a aniwaniwa (rainbow) that is raining down on top of my head. A soft breeze blows in my face as a big bus goes past.    

4) Stormy Day

A Stormy Day

As I looked out my window  all of a sudden there was a BIG flash of lightning, then a LOUD clap of thunder. The loud thrashing rain on the top of the roof sounded like clapping. As I stepped outside to see the waves crashing against the rocks. Then another flash of lightning hit me with a fright I felt the electricity hit with light. Then all of a sudden everything went black.
